Performance that holds
Most organisations can lift performance. Very few can hold it. This paper sets the international peer-reviewed evidence alongside NSC Group's own applied research — more than 2,500 responses to the NSC Group High Performance Survey across three organisations, plus interviews with senior leaders — to argue that high performance is a system that decays unless it is deliberately re-supplied, and that the component which decays fastest is the community of trust and belonging that makes discretionary effort a rational choice.
